Dear Ticket Holder,

We look forward to seeing you at the Sensory-Friendly Performance (SFP) of The Lion King on July 21. Please review the information below to make your visit more enjoyable. Performance time is 2pm, with activities beginning at 1pm.

Please review your tickets in advance, and distribute tickets to members of your group prior to entering the building.


What to expect

  • This performance is 2 hours and 30 minutes which includes an 18 minute intermission.
  • Doors to the Cobb Great Hall Lobby and our activity areas will open approximately 1 hour prior to performance time.
  • We recommend patrons take their seats no later than 5 minutes prior to 2pm.
  • Patrons arriving as the performance begins will be held in the Sierra Lobby for the first 15 minutes of the performance. There are additional seating holds throughout the performance.

New: Bag Screening at The Lion King

  • We will have MSU Green Coat Security screening bags prior to entering the Cobb Great Hall Lobby. Please plan ahead to allow for this screening.

  • Entry to the building will be limited to the front entrance off Bogue Street or atrium entrance from the parking ramp. The southwest corner entrance on Wilson Road will be closed for this performance.

Parking Details

  • There are several construction projects taking place in the area and at MSU. Please view the Construction Alert and Travel Recommendations.
  • Parking in the ramp adjacent to Wharton Center is on a first come, first served basis.
  • Parking for The Lion King is $5.00 cash only at the Wharton Ramp (MSU Ramp #3), 766 East Shaw Lane, East Lansing MI 48824.
  • Free parking is available in the Shaw Ramp (MSU Ramp #1) next to the MSU College of Law, 592 North Shaw Lane, East Lansing MI 48824.
  • Please allow ample time for parking and/or if picking up tickets at Will Call.

Additional Information

  • View the patron amenities and services that are available during your visit.
  • Activities, Quiet, and Calm Areas will be available throughout the performance.
  • Special activities and crafts will begin in the Jackson Lounge Activity Area one hour prior to performance.
  • We will have two Quiet Spaces and two Calm Corners available throughout the event.
  • Recording of any kind is prohibited inside the theatre. However, you may use your electronic devices as needed for comfort.
  • If you need to bounce up and down, stand, walk around, or go in and out of the theatre during the performance, you are welcome to do so.
  • Feel free to use sound-canceling headphones.
  • There will be a television with a live feed of the performance available for those who feel overwhelmed in the theatre.
