Earlier this year, Wharton Center announced the expansion of its long-standing summer Broadway intensive TAKE IT FROM THE TOP to Detroit.
As with our East Lansing workshops, Detroit participants will work face-to-face with Broadway performers from New York City, during the 5-day program focusing on musical theatre singing, acting, and dancing—the skills needed to become a triple threat performer. The week of group classes and individualized coaching culminates in a showcase on the Fisher Theatre stage for friends and family.
“TAKE IT FROM THE TOP has been a signature education initiative of Wharton Center since 2009 and it has been our goal to expand the program to engage more Michigan students. With the commitment and support from Michigan State Federal Credit Union, this dream is now a reality," says Wharton Center Executive Director, Eric Olmscheid. "We are also grateful and excited to be working alongside Broadway In Detroit to bring this program to the Fisher Theatre.”
