BRING ARTS & CREATIVITY TO TEACHING & LEARNING

The 2023-24 Kennedy Center Partners in Education (KC-PIE) Program is a partnership between Ingham ISD and Wharton Center. It is sponsored by the Kennedy Center for Performing Arts and is based on the belief that teachers’ professional training in arts integration is essential for efforts to increase the artistic literacy of young people.

This annual program for Ingham ISD and surrounding school districts invites preK-12 teachers and administrators to:

  1. Participate in the Arts Integration Summer Institute where educators and guest artists come together to deepen their understanding of arts integration.
  2. Become part of a Professional Learning Community and receive support from professionals and peers by sharing and learning about best practices in arts integration.
  3. Work with an outstanding local teaching artist to design and implement an Arts Integrated Residency made uniquely for your classroom and offered throughout the year.

The Arts Integration Summer Institute welcomes the award winning Paige Hernandez (actor, dancer, musician, and poet) as guest artist this summer.

“It pushed me to grow creatively and to recognize ways I could easily integrate arts in my teaching.”
