Join Wharton Center Institute for Arts & Creativity and Ingham ISD for a conversation on how Michigan students are benefiting from arts education programs.



At the 17th annual breakfast you will:

• Learn more about arts integrated curriculum development and student outcomes.
• Hear from professional educators implementing lessons in K-12 classrooms.
• Network with community members who value arts education.
• Learn about opportunities to implement programs in your school.
• Enjoy a dynamic performance by poet and hip-hop artist Baba Bomani. Learn how his inspirational work in music and literacy inspires young minds.
  
  

About Baba Bomani
Baba Bomani lives in Washington D.C. and for 20 years has used his life experiences—mixed with his musical and poetic skills—to teach arts-integrated workshops, residencies, assemblies, and professional development centering on his writing curriculum.

He has taught and performed across the nation, from the Washington National Cathedral to New York City’s East Fillmore. Bomani is also the founder of Sankofa’s Watermelon Day. A yearly celebration of community, art, education, and watermelon at Sankofa Video & Books Café in Washington D.C.

This is a free event, but there will be a modest fee to park in the Wharton Center ramp.
