About Baba Bomani
Baba Bomani lives in Washington D.C. and for 20 years has used his life experiences—mixed with his musical and poetic skills—to teach arts-integrated workshops, residencies, assemblies, and professional development centering on his writing curriculum.

He has taught and performed across the nation, from the Washington National Cathedral to New York City’s East Fillmore. Bomani is also the founder of Sankofa’s Watermelon Day. A yearly celebration of community, art, education, and watermelon at Sankofa Video & Books Café in Washington D.C.


This is a free event, but there will be a modest fee to park in the Wharton Center ramp.
